Mieke Elder

Mieke Elder is an agricultural specialist and project manager with over 15 years’ experience supporting regional industries across Australia.

As Operations Manager for BYV Organics, Mieke oversees all our biosolids beneficial reuse programs.

Mieke combines strong project governance, stakeholder engagement, and agribusiness expertise to deliver compliant, practical solutions that support farm productivity and positive environmental outcomes.

Rusty Mark

Rusty has over 30 years’ experience in environment, energy and resources research and development. Since 2019, his focus has been on finding beneficial reuse opportunities for waste products from water treatment.

Rusty worked as a Technical Specialist – Beneficial Reuse for Seqwater before joining B&Y Services as Special Projects Manager.

Rusty currently oversees the end-to-end implementation of beneficial reuse projects with a view to improving quality, efficiency and profitability.

Samuel Kuhlewein

Samuel has over 24 years of experience specialising in the liquid waste sector across Queensland. As Managing Director of B&Y Services Group, he plays a hands-on role in daily operations and strategic oversight. Samuel ensures projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently, building a strong reputation for reliability and responsiveness.

Samuel’s practical experience, combined with his commitment to client service and continuous improvement, makes him a trusted partner for delivering efficient and dependable waste management services.

Dr Glenn Dale

Glenn combines deep technical expertise with operational and commercial experience in ecological engineering and biotechnology. Glenn founded Verterra in 1999 and works across a wide variety of sectors domestically and internationally. He brings an integrated, multidisciplinary perspective to new challenges in land rehabilitation and environmental management.

Glenn contributes to research and industry development through industry committees and academic roles, with the University of Southern Queensland and Queensland University of Technology. Glenn has served on the advisory board of the Australian New Zealand Biosolids Partnership (ANZBP) since 2017 and is Deputy-Chair of Queensland arm of the Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA).

Marty Kuhlewein

An accomplished business leader with over 25 years of experience as a company director in the Australian passenger transport, construction, and environmental sectors, Marty is known for transforming a small transport operation into a multi-entity group with over 300 vehicles and 500 staff, while maintaining a focus on compliance, safety, and service excellence.

Marty is Managing Director of Kuhle Pty Ltd and has a proven track record in securing and delivering ongoing government contracts at all levels, as well as initiating and leading strategic joint ventures. He has strong expertise in best-practice management through the successful implementation of ISO accreditation for Safety, Environment, and Quality Systems across multiple business operations.

Mike Williamson

Mike brings over 40 years’ experience in environmental engineering, renewable energy, resource recovery, construction, production and project management. He has held board-level positions with global consulting firms and served for over eight years as independent director of Unitywater.

Between 2001 and 2015 Mike was Chairman of the Oil Stewardship Advisory Council, and has held Board positions with not-for-profits including Keep Australia Beautiful, Special Olympics and ECOllaboration Ltd. Mike is a qualified marine engineer, a certified Advisor and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
